Malik Hendriks

Malik Hendricks lands on Vibes And Pepper Records with “Ten Toes Down”, a five-track journey through deep house, broken beat, soulful rhythms, and raw percussive energy. Drawing from the roots of house music while keeping a distinctly modern perspective, Hendricks delivers a record that moves effortlessly between the club and deeper, more introspective territory.Opening with “Hyper Thesis”, the EP kicks off with its most direct dancefloor cut: driving, hypnotic, and built around a deep rolling groove. The title track follows with a more organic feel, bringing tribal percussion and ancestral rhythms to the forefront—a nod to Africa and the foundations of rhythm that continue to shape house music. On the flip, “Steel Man” dives into a loose broken-beat funk groove, while “Mint Suede Monks” slows things down into a mellow, moody and atmospheric space, full of subtle soul and late-night warmth. Closing the EP, Kai Alcé reworks “Mint Suede Monks” into something truly special. Soulful piano chords and a deep, timeless house groove give the remix a beautiful classic feel, evoking the emotional spirit of Frankie Knuckles while remaining firmly rooted in the present. With “Ten Toes Down”, Malik Hendricks delivers a beautifully balanced record—rhythmic, soulful and deeply connected to the roots, with all five tracks bringing their own flavor to the Vibes And Pepper sound.
